Loretta Carmody Loretta Carmody, age 98 of Carrollton passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Jerseyville Manor. She was born July 19, 1926 in Fort Russell Township in Madison County, the daughter of Henry and Anna Smola Ukena. She married Carl Carmody November 25, 1950 in Alton and he preceded her in death October28, 2014. She is survived by a daughter, Carla Carmody of Gainesville, FL, three sons, Tim (Joyce) Carmody of Springfield, Terry (Cathy) Carmody of Sioux Falls, SD, John (Louise) Carmody of Roodhouse, nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Mary Catherine Carmody, and a granddaughter, Shannon Carmody. Loretta worked as an office secretary at Glass Works in Alton and Empire Gas in Carrollton. She was a 75-year member of the Catholic Daughter of America at St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton.
