Norman "Gene" Eugene Robinson Hayden, Idaho - Norman Eugene 'Gene' Robinson, 84, of Hayden Idaho passed away on January 30, 2024. He was born September 15, 1939, in Haypress, and grew up in Carrollton. After graduating from Carrollton High school, in 1957, he enlisted in the navy and was posted to Japan. Three years later he returned to Illinois to study electronics at DeVry in Chicago. On April 29, 1962 he married Sharlyn Frazier, in the Greenfield United Methodist Church. The first couple, to be married in the rebuilt Greenfield UMC, were blessed with 61 adventure filled years, that took them to California, Washington DC, Northern Idaho, Canada and Poland. Starting as a lineman, Gene built a career in the Telecom industry. In the 1980's he began traveling to build and install independent telephone projects, first domestically, then internationally. Post-retirement he continued working, driving an airport shuttle then working as a security guard until the age of 80. His favorite post
